Why a lawyer
Immigration mistakes are hard to undo.
A missed deadline, an incomplete application or an answer that looks like misrepresentation can cost you years. Getting the right advice at the start is the best way to avoid a refusal.
We explain your options in plain language, tell you honestly what your chances are, and handle your case from start to finish. If something goes wrong, we can take it to the Immigration and Refugee Board or the Federal Court, where consultants can't represent you.

Lawyers, not consultants
Your future in Canada deserves a lawyer.
Immigration consultants can't represent you in the Federal Court of Canada. Lawyers can, and that matters when your case gets complicated.
The Government of Canada has proposed new penalties for immigration consultants who break the law (IRCC, 2023). Consultants are regulated by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), which maintains a compensation fund to repay clients defrauded by consultants (CICC Compensation Fund).
If the system needs a repayment fund, you should ask: do you really want to be represented by someone whose industry expects misconduct? (IRCC rule changes)
We are Canadian lawyers who argue cases at the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court every month.

Questions clients ask us
Immigration lawyer FAQ
Do I need an immigration lawyer or a consultant?
For a simple application, either may help. But only a lawyer can represent you in the Federal Court of Canada, and lawyers are regulated by the Law Society. If your case involves a refusal, a removal order, inadmissibility or a deadline, you want a lawyer from the start.
Do you only help people in Surrey, Vancouver and Abbotsford?
Our offices are in Surrey, Abbotsford and Vancouver, and we help clients across the Lower Mainland and the rest of BC. We also meet by phone and video and represent clients across Canada.
What should I have ready when I call?
Any letters from IRCC or CBSA, your current immigration documents, and key dates such as when your status expires or when you were refused. If you don't have everything, call anyway. We'll tell you what we need.
Can you help if I've already been refused?
Yes. Many of our clients come to us after a refusal. Depending on the reasons and the type of application, we may be able to appeal, ask the Federal Court to review the decision, or prepare a stronger new application.
How fast can you act if I have a deadline or removal date?
Very fast. We regularly file urgent Federal Court applications on short notice. Call us as soon as you have a deadline or a removal date so we have the most time to prepare.
